Assam: Special Thai delegation visits Sri Sri Jagannath temple in Dibrugarh

A 15-member Thai delegation led by Kiran Moongtin visited Dibrugarh’s Sri Sri Jagannath temple, marking a moment of cultural diplomacy.

DIBRUGARH: In a significant moment of cultural diplomacy and spiritual exchange, a 15-member delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand, visited the Sri Sri Jagannath temple in Dibrugarh on Thursday. The high-profile team was led by Kiran Moongtin, Minister attached to the Department of South Asian, Middle East, and African Affairs.

The delegation, comprising officials and spiritual followers, was originally scheduled to stay for 30 minutes. However, captivated by the temple's tranquil ambiance, spiritual atmosphere, and architectural elegance, they extended their visit to offer prayers at all eight shrines within the temple complex.

Members of the Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Trust, including Trustee Dip Chasa, Atmaram Agarwal, Pankaj Sobor, and Probal Das, warmly welcomed the guests. The Trust offered Mahaprasad and light refreshments, which were received with deep appreciation by the delegation.

Speaking on the occasion, the visitors lauded the sanctity of the temple, the devotion of the community, and the warm hospitality extended to them. The visit is being seen as a symbol of the growing cultural and spiritual ties between India and Thailand.
