Assam: Tamulpur District Magistrate Imposes Restrictions Ahead of HSLC Examination

KOKRAJHAR: Observing the need for a peaceful environment for conducting a smooth HSLC examination scheduled to be held from February 15, the District Magistrate of Tamulpur District, Pankaj Chakravarty, in the exercise of the powers conferred by section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), has imposed certain restrictions on Thursday.

The orders prohibited the use of loudspeakers and microphones without prior permission, a ban on loudspeakers and microphones at night and during examination hours, a restriction on unauthorized gatherings or crowding within 100 metres of examination centres, and a prohibition on carrying unauthorized objects like mobile phones or electronic devices inside examination halls. The District Magistrate said this order was issued ex parte and came into immediate effect, remaining in force until the completion of the examinations.

The order said the HSLC examinations for the year 2025 are commencing in February, and it is essential to maintain a peaceful study environment for students.
