DHEKIAJULI: In a significant step towards promoting higher education among Tea Tribe and Adivasi communities, the tea tribe girls’ and boys’ hostels located at Mithaam Bengali, Dhekiajuli, were inspected by Subhan Gowala, Director of the Tea and Ex-Tea Tribe Welfare Directorate, along with Bhagirath Karan, State President of the Assam Tea Tribe Students’ Association.
The inspection was conducted on August 4, with both dignitaries expressing satisfaction over the hostel infrastructure. The authorities confirmed that the 12-bedded hostel would be made available for students from the current academic session itself.
Tea tribe and Adivasi students who are aspiring to pursue college-level education have been encouraged to reach out for hostel accommodation. The initiative aims to ease the residential challenges faced by students from these communities and enhance their access to education.
