Assam: Tragic Accident In Chhaygaon Claims Two Lives, One Critically Injured

The incident occurred early this morning when a speeding vehicle collided with the rear of a two-wheeler before fleeing the scene.

CHHAYGAON: A devastating road accident in Chhaygaon, located in Assam's Kamrup district, resulted in the deaths of two young men and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred early this morning when a speeding vehicle collided with the rear of a two-wheeler bearing registration number AS-25-4980 before fleeing the scene.

The victims are identified as Dip Das, 20 years old, of Bhathipara village, and Mirajul Ali, 21 years old, of Majpara village. The third person, Chiranjit Das, sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for immediate treatment.

Eyewitnesses reported that the speeding car knocked the two-wheeler from the rear and caused the tragic accident. Local police are looking into the issue to find the vehicle and the driver involved in the accident.

The tragedy has cast a shadow on the current Bihu festival at Chhaygaon, with local residents mourning the death of the two youths. The residents of the locality are also showing support to Chiranjit Das in his efforts to recover early.

Earlier, a serious road accident occurred at Dhapkota in Jorhat when a family from Belsor, Nalbari, lost control of their four-wheeler while traveling from Jorhat to Guwahati.

Coincidentally, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika happened to be passing through the locality at the moment while traveling from Sivasagar to Guwahati. He promptly stepped in, ensuring the situation was brought under control. The car rammed into a road divider, injuring all the members of the family, including a toddler, critically.
