KAMRUP: A devastating road accident claimed the lives of two youths and left another seriously injured late last night in Chaygaon, Kamrup district. According to reports, two motorcycles collided head-on, resulting in the tragic deaths of Samiran Das and Hirakjyoti Das.
Another rider, identified as Pritam Talukdar, was critically injured in the accident and has been rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care. The impact of the collision was so intense that both bikes caught fire. Fire tenders were immediately deployed to the scene to control the blaze and prevent further damage.
In another horrific accident last year in February, two individuals were killed and two others were left critically injured atop the flyover near B Borooah College at Ulubari in Guwahati, Assam. Reports state that the incident occurred following a collision between two motorcycles.
The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Das and Paraweshwar Deka, cousins residing in a rented house in Silpukhuri. Responding swiftly, the Bhangagarh Police reached the scene and secured the area.
While retrieving the bodies of the deceased, they also rushed the injured individuals to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in critical condition. People nearby said that the bikes were speeding and were “hardly” following any rules. Both the motorcycles had a head-on collision.
