Silchar: Two drivers from Cachar district along with their trucks were reported missing in Manipur since January 3. The incident came to public notice after their families demonstrated in front of the construction company the drivers were working for. The missing drivers were identified as Rijul Haque Laskar of Kachudaram, Dholai and Nasir Uddin of Jirighat. Sources said, they were assigned to deliver construction materials at a site in West Tamenglong district in Manipur. Rijul and Nasir accordingly delivered the materials at the specific site. But since then they mysteriously had gone missing as their whereabouts could not be traced for last one week. Finally their family members staged demonstration in front of the Dholai office of the Jandu Construction, the missing drivers were working for. The family members alleged that the company authority could not provide them any information regarding the whereabouts of Rijul and Nasir and their respective vehicles.

Few months back, another day labour from Cachar namely Kamalbabu Singh were missing from an Army camp in Manipur. Neither the army nor the local police or administration could ascertain any clue regarding the mysterious missing of Singh from an army camp.
