Assam: Two NSCN (IM) cadres arrested in Changlang district

A joint operation in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh, targeted NSCN (IM) cadres engaged in extortion.

JAGUN: A joint operation was conducted in the Rima area of Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh, following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of NSCN (IM) cadres involved in extortion activities targeting local businessmen and shopkeepers.

The operation was executed collaboratively by 11 PARA (SF), 10 Assam Rifles and Changlang Police, during which two active NSCN (IM) cadres apprehended. The two were identified as SS Lt Roney Rai alias Tutu (31 years), resident of Jairampur, Changlang and SS Sgt Maj Anong Singpho (30 years), resident of Pengri, Tinsukia, Assam.

One .32 pistol with 6 rounds, a Nagamese sickle (Dah), wallet, PAN card, tecno mobile, and SIM card were seized.

This joint operation highlights the resolute commitment of Changlang Police and our security forces to maintaining peace and security in the region.
