Assam: Wildlife traffickers arrested in Tinsukia

Three wildlife traffickers arrested in Tinsukia, with seized items including a Sambar deer antler, leopard skin, and pangolin scale.

TINSUKIA: Protection Squad Range Forest Office under Doomdooma Forest Division in Tinsukia district arrested 3 wildlife traffickers on Monday evening and seized a Sambar deer antler of 3 feet long, a leopard skin of 1.1kg having length 1.9 ft and breadth 2.5 ft and a pangolin scale.

The culprits were caught during routine patrolling by Nobokanta Narzari Forester 1. The arrested traffickers have been identified as Ajit Moran (44 years) of Village 2 No. Kakojan, Montu Moran (30 years), and Dipen Chetia (50 years) both residents of No 2. Nalani and all under the Doomdooma PS. The squad also seized 2 motor bikes bearing numbers AS 23AJ 4761 and AS 23AB 0947.
