KOKRAJHAR: Over the past twelve weeks, the 100-Day Intensified Campaign for TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan has been at the forefront of raising awareness about tuberculosis (TB) across the nation. The campaign on World TB Day 2025 reached a significant milestone with events held at various Urban Health and Wellness Centres in Chirang District under the theme ‘YES ! We Can End TB – Commit, Invest, Deliver.’

Sources from the Chirang DIPRO said that the observance of World TB Day focused on shedding light on the global burden of TB, a disease that continues to be one of the leading causes of death worldwide. With TB remaining a major public health challenge, today’s event underscored the urgent need for collective action to eliminate the disease.

The theme of this year’s World TB Day emphasized the critical need for commitment, investment, and delivery of comprehensive care in the fight against TB. The event served as a platform for raising public awareness about the importance of early diagnosis, prompt treatment and the availability of free care and resources to those affected by TB.

Community members, healthcare workers and local leaders gathered to support the ongoing efforts of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaign, which aims to eliminate tuberculosis in India by 2025. The campaign has been instrumental in increasing access to essential services, improving diagnostic tools and ensuring treatment for all, without any financial burden.
