According to reports, the victim Rekha Baruah, along with her sister, 6-year-old niece, and her friend, had gone to take baths in the Dikhow River in front of their house. All of a sudden, Rekha Baruah along with her niece slipped into the water while bathing. As soon as the victim’s sister and friend shouted for help, locals rushed to the scene and a youth working on the river embankment near the scene rescued the girl from the river.
