DIBRUGARH: In a significant achievement, Shan Ranjan Gogoi, a student from the BBA 2022 batch at the Centre for Management Studies in Dibrugarh University has been awarded the prestigious DG NCC Commendation Card and Silver Badge for the year 2024.
Recognizing outstanding performance and dedication in NCC activities, the Director General of the National Cadet Corps, Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, conferred this rare and significant honor.
Making Shan’s achievement a moment of immense pride for Dibrugarh University and Assam, since only 200 are selected for this distinction annually out of over 14 lakh cadets, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Caretaker Officers (CTOs), and civil staff across India.
During a special ceremony held in the presence of the ANO and Officer Commanding of 46 Assam Medical Company, Paramananda Sonowal, Registrar of Dibrugarh University, formally presented the Commendation Card and Silver Badge on April 1, 2025. The event highlighted Shan’s exemplary contribution to NCC through his discipline, leadership, and active participation in national-level events.
Earlier, Director General of NCC Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, in a ceremonial function at the North East Regional Directorate of NCC in Shillong in the year 2022, presented the Director General's Commendation Card to Major Leena Saikia, Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of 73 Assam Girls (I) Coy, NCC Tezpur.
