DHUBRI:Chairman of State Innovation and Transformation Ayog (SITA), Ramen Deka distributed bicycles among the students of Class IX at a function held at Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Ground here on Friday.
While addressing the function, Deka said that this scheme will encourage the people of Assam implemented by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“The main objective of introducing this scheme is to ensure that students can complete their schooling without any difficulty. This scheme will go on realising the dream of our younger generation through comprehensive development. The scheme will benefit the students living in remote villages,” Deka added. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Dhubri Dibakar Nath informed that a total of 24,265 bicycles were distributed among the students of Class IX in Dhubri. Of these, 9,658 are boys and 18,607 are girls.
“It is normal for the children to be thrilled to receive the bicycle, but the students must fulfil the wish of our Chief Minister and work to place their district and state in the top rankings in the nation's education sector,” Nath said. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board, Dr. Debamoy Sanyal former MLA Banendra Kumar Musahary, Chairman of Dhubri Gauripur Development Authority, Deepak Saha and other dignitaries.
