SILCHAR: Leaders and workers of all the three districts of Barak Valley should work hard for the next 10 months to ensure victory at least in 10 out of 13 constituencies in the ensuing Assembly election, stated Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah. Addressing a workers’ meet in the party office here in Silchar, Mallabaruah further said that the first ever corporation election in Silchar would be held by November and BJP should win in 40 out of 42 wards. “A thumping victory in the corporation election will act as a booster for the Assembly election due next year,” Mallabaruah said.
Jayanta Mallabaruah, the PHE Minister, laid the foundation stone of a water treatment plant in Sribhumi on Sunday. After the ‘bhoomi puja’, Baruah said that this Rs 82-crore project would ensure uninterrupted water supply in the town. At least 71,000 people of 15,000 families would get 24 hours water in Sribhumi town, Mallabaruah added.
Earlier on Saturday evening, the minister along with two of his Cabinet colleagues, Kaushik Rai and Krishnendu Paul, joined the ‘Kargil Vijay’ rally in Silchar.
