ORANG: A special organizational meeting of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) Morcha of the BJP was held on July 31 at the Udalguri district BJP office.

The meeting was presided over by Dibyajyoti Saikia, the president of the OBC Morcha’s district unit. Kuldeep Bora, the general secretary of the Assam State OBC Morcha, attended the session as a key participant and provided strategic insights. District BJP secretary Bishnu Sharma was also present at the meeting, acting under the directives of District BJP President Sunil Basumatary.

Addressing the gathering, state general secretary Kuldeep Bora emphasized the crucial role of OBC voters in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), stating that they hold a decisive position in nearly all council constituencies. He called for enhanced coordination and strengthened grassroots-level organization to ensure inclusive representation and voter engagement.

The meeting witnessed the active presence of Mandal presidents from all ten council constituencies of Udalguri district, along with other district-level office bearers. During the session, each Mandal President presented election-related updates and briefed the state leader on the current organizational status of their respective constituencies. The event began with ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the singing of “Vande Mataram” and the national anthem, setting a patriotic tone for the session.
