DHUBRI: Blankets were distributed among the poor by the Dhubri unit of Simanta Chetana Mancha, Purvottar here in its office auditorium in ward no. 3 on Sunday.
Nearly 400 blankets were distributed among the poor people who are battling the cold wave along the north bank of River Brahmaputra in Dhubri town, a Mancha source said.
Source said that members of the Mancha first distributed the coupons among the most needy people and requested them to visit their office premises on Sunday. Like the previous year, this year also a long queue of people was seen in the Mancha premises receiving the blankets, and even those who came without coupons were given blankets.
