The camp was inaugurated by the Principal of Assam Medical College and Hospital Dr Sanjeev Kakoti and Additional Income Tax Commissioner Subrata Dhar by lighting the lamp.
This initiative was part of a nationwide blood donation drive conducted across all offices of the Income Tax Department as a measure of social responsibility. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 32 donors contributing to the noble cause.
The donors included officials from the Income Tax Department offices in Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Duliajan, and Digboi, along with participants from external agencies such as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Their collective effort underscored the commitment towards community welfare and healthcare support.
Recognizing the importance of such initiatives, the Income Tax Department reiterated its dedication to conducting more blood donation camps in the future.
Blood donation plays a critical role in saving lives, especially for patients requiring transfusions due to medical conditions, surgeries, or emergencies. Regular blood donations help maintain adequate supplies in blood banks, ensuring timely assistance to those in need.
The I-T Department extended gratitude to all donors, volunteers, and medical professionals from Assam Medical College and Hospital for their support in making this camp a success. Through continued collaboration and participation, such efforts contribute significantly to public health and social well-being.
