Bodoland University to commemorate National Science Day on February 27&28

KOKRAJHAR: Synchronizing with the celebration of the 16th Bodoland University (BU) Foundation Day on February 28, the BU is poised to host a grand two-day celebration of National Science Day on February 27 and 28 at the esteemed Nileswar Brahma Auditorium Hall, Bodoland University. This prestigious event aspires to cultivate scientific consciousness, stimulate groundbreaking innovation, and galvanize young minds to delve into the marvels of science and technology.

The theme of this year’s event, ‘Empowering Indian youths for global leadership in science & innovation for Viksit Bharat,’ seeks to foster an intellectual discourse on the transformative power of science in sculpting our nation’s future.

The celebration will encompass an array of dynamic activities, including illuminating keynote addresses, thought-provoking seminars, immersive exhibitions and engaging interactive sessions, providing an invaluable platform for students, researchers, and science aficionados to interface with eminent scholars and industry stalwarts. The event will commence on February 27 with the registration of exhibition participants at 9:00 AM, followed by the grand inauguration of the NSD, 2025 exhibition at 11:00 AM by Prof. Babu Lal Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor of Bodoland University. The exhibition will remain accessible until 4:30 PM, affording attendees an opportunity to explore pioneering scientific exhibits and avant-garde innovations. Additionally, meticulously curated guided tours will be conducted, featuring visits to the illustrious Orchidarium, TIC, BU Museum, and Bambusetum.

On February 28, the celebration will resume with the commemoration of the 16th Bodoland University Foundation Day and the highly anticipated National Science Day, 2025 lecture. Prof. Prodeep Phukan, Director of the College Development Council, Gauhati University, has been invited as the distinguished speaker. Furthermore, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has been invited to grace the occasion.

Prof. Sujit Deka, Dean of Science and Technology, Bodoland University, has invited students, faculty members, researchers, and the general public to take part in this intellectually enriching event. The programme will underscore the paramount importance of scientific breakthroughs and their indelible impact on fostering a sustainable future.

Notably, the National Science Day is observed annually on February 28 to honour the monumental discovery of the Raman Effect by Nobel Laureate Sir CV Raman. Through this celebration, Bodoland University aspires to ignite the passion of aspiring scientists and researchers, propelling them towards making monumental contributions to the nation’s scientific and technological advancement.
