BOKAKHAT: A crucial road in the Kuruwabahi area under Bokakhat subdivision is currently causing severe hardship for the local residents. In particular, the road connecting the historic Nikarighat through Yogoniya village has fallen into a severely dilapidated condition, disrupting the entire transportation system of the region.
It is noteworthy that this road is not just a means of transport but serves as the economic lifeline of a vast area in the Dhansiri region. Agricultural and dairy products from this area are transported through this route to the Golaghat district and other commercial centres across Assam. Allegations have also surfaced that, in violation of the guidelines of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, heavy vehicles and dumpers have been plying on this road, further worsening its condition.
