BSF Guwahati Rescues Pregnant Woman, Ensures Safe Transfer to Hospital

The Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier saved the life of a pregnant woman on Wednesday in Kalaicharbari, Dhubri district, displaying extraordinary commitment and service.

DHUBRI: The Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier saved the life of a pregnant woman on Wednesday in Kalaicharbari, Dhubri district, displaying extraordinary commitment and service. In order to guarantee the patient's safety, personnel from the 150 Battalion of the BSF quickly responded to the emergency and navigated through difficult riverine terrain.

On a post on X, the BSF Guwahati stated, “Bordermen of 150Bn @BSF_Guwahati Ftr responded swiftly to a life threatening delivery emergency in Kalaicharbari (Dhubri).”

The incident unfolded when an urgent delivery situation came up for Munni Khatun, a resident of the border community. The situation worsened since there were limited medical facilities in the isolated riverine area. The BSF responded to the emergency call quickly, sending out a boat to transport her over the difficult border region.

Khatun received the life-saving treatment she required after being safely transported to Dhubri Civil Hospital.

“BSF evacuated Munni Khatun across a challenging riverine border using a BSF boat & ensured her safe transfer to Dhubri Civil Hospital for life saving care”, the BSF Guwahati added.

BSF Guwahati has been working tirelessly to serve the people of the city. Between January 1 and November 29, 2024, the Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier seized narcotics and contraband worth Rs. 12.7 crore.

The confiscated items include phenyl, gold, Yaba tablets, ganja, and liquor, reflecting the force’s dedication to halting illegal activities along India's international borders.

BSF DIG Harmeet Singh stated that the Guwahati Frontier has maintained security without major incidents while achieving key operational milestones and strengthening ties with border communities. This year, the BSF has apprehended 35 Bangladeshi nationals and 96 Indian nationals involved in smuggling and other illicit activities.
