BTC CEM Pramod Boro unveils mausoleum and statue of Rupnath Brahma

KOKRAJHAR: Synchronizing with the 124th death anniversary of great tribal political icon ‘Subung Sibiyari’ Rupnath Brahma in Kokrajhar, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro, on Sunday ceremonially unveiled his mausoleum and statue.

As part of the programme, chief Boro inaugurated the newly-constructed mausoleum and open stage at his burial place, Owabari, followed by unveiling of his re-installed statue in front of Pragati Bhavan in the presence of MLA Lawrence Islary and Chairperson of Kokrajhar Municipal Board (KMB) Pratibha Brahma.      

A seminar on Brahma’s life and dedication to the society was held at Pragati Bhawan which was chaired by retired Prof of Kokrajhar Govt College Gobinda Boro. The seminar was inaugurated by retired commissioner secretary, Govt of Assam Prafulla Hazoary while the welcome address was given by Chairperson of KMB Pratibha Brahma. The President of the BSS, Dr Surath Narzary, retired headmaster of Simbwrgaon High School Bibeka, Nanda Narzary delivered a speech. A souvenir on Brahma’s life sketch was also released on the occasion.
