KOKRAJHAR: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Pramod Boro on Wednesday asked all the officers and officials of Secretariat to be punctual and regular in their duty and warned that file movement was too slow due to self-interest of certain officials.
An urgent meeting of the CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro with Principal Secretary Shantanu P. Gotmare and all secretaries, joint secretaries, deputy secretaries and other officers of BTC Secretariat was held on Wednesday in the Secretariat conference hall.
Chairing the meeting, Boro explained various matters like preparation of flagship schemes and project proposals. He instructed the Director of P&RD to arrange orientation programme on projects like MGNREGA, NRLM with all Project Directors of BTC by the help of experts from outside. He also directed the officers to prepare budget in advance for the current financial year and also for 2022- 2023.
As per an officer of the Secretariat, Boro instructed the departments concerned to conduct orientation programme on livelihood, employment generation and income generation. At the same time, he also directed them to bring out orientation programmes for the chairmen of Village Council Level Development Committee (VCDC) and Territorial Council Level Coordination Committee (TCLCC).
The CEM asked the officers of the department concerned to prepare the proposal of the Jwhwlao Dwimalu Road from Karigaon of National Highway-31 (C) to Kokrajhar to upgrade it to four lanes without further delay. He directed the secretary of the department concerned to take bold steps in this regard. He also asked the officers to send utilization certificates (UC) of liability works immediately to the Government of Assam.
Sources from the Secretariat said the CEM warned the officers and staff of BTC Secretariat that service action would be taken against those who were not punctual in their duty or irregular in their works. Sources also said the CEM was not happy with the movement of files in the Secretariat and cautioned that there were many complaints from the public.
