ORANG: In a significant initiative aimed at securing the future of students, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) launched a special scheme titled ‘Dahal’ under the Department of Education. As part of this initiative, nearly 1,000 students of Mazbat Higher Secondary School in the Paneri Council constituency of Udalguri district underwent the DMIT (Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test) on July 22. The DMIT test, conducted for students from Class V to Class XII, is designed to help them understand their inborn talents, personality traits, and career inclinations based on fingerprint analysis. The initiative seeks to guide students in choosing the right academic and career paths based on scientific assessment. Alongside the aptitude test, BTC also announced another major step for the welfare of higher education students. According to the Chief Advisor of the advisory committee, Dr RN Sinha, undergraduate and postgraduate students under the jurisdiction of BTC would be provided with an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh each.
