Capacity building training for SHG members begins in Kharupetia

A capacity building training programme for selected SHG members under Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan - Nagar (MMUA-N) began at Kharupetia on Tuesday.

MANGALDAI: A capacity building training programme for selected SHG members under Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan - Nagar (MMUA-N) began at Kharupetia on Tuesday. The programme organized by Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission Society in collaboration with Kharupetia Municipality Board (KMB) in the Municipal Meeting Hall was presided over by Chairperson of KMB Krishna Saha.

District Commissioner of Darrang Parag Kumar Kakaty, taking part in it, encouraged the SHG members to take full advantage of the initiative and work towards sustainable livelihood and self-reliance.  More than one hundred women self-help group members were present while Project Manager of Darang district of Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission Society Manas Das, Community Organizer of KMB Kuldeep Bora, and community resource persons Rani Nandi and Priyanka Sarkar also took part in it. The programme will continue till July 15 and a total of 10 trainers have been invited for this training. There are about 250 women self-help groups under Kharupetia Municipal Council and each group has 10 women members.
