KOKRAJHAR: The Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah recently inaugurated a special learning centre for the dropout students and students who were never enrolled in schools. These students are from the underdeveloped areas of Chirang district bordering Bhutan at Fulbari district under Deosri Village Council of Development Committee. So far, a total of 57 such students have been enrolled in this centre. As of now, 5 such centres are being run by The Ant (NGO) in collaboration with the Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) of Chirang.
This has been started as per directions of the Chief Minister of Assam as a part of the development of underdeveloped areas of bordering areas. Inspector of Schools and District Elementary Education Officer, Chirang, Bijay Baishnab and officials of The Ant (NGO) were also present on the occasion.
