HAFLONG: The closing ceremony of a three-day District Inter-School Tournament-2022 organized by the District Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Dima Hasao was held. NCHAC Executive Member in-charge Education Lalremsiama Darnei attended the programme as the chief guest along with other Executive Members Nipolal Hojai and Nojit Kemprai.
The inter-school sports programme organized from the September 28 to September 30 saw students from different schools around the district participating in the various sports such as kabaddi, table tennis, volley ball, athletics etc. Two news sports namely weightlifting and Taekwondo were introduced in this tournament.
Education EM Lalremsiama Darnei during his speech expressed his happiness for seeing such good response and excitement among the students during the three-day event. He said, "Along with academic proficiency in today's age, sports also play an equal role to achieve your career. It helps you to maintain discipline and helps students to achieve the goals of your life."
EM Nipolal Hojai during his speech stressed importance of physical fitness through sports. He said only if one is physically fit, he can contribute for the good for the society.
