GOLAGHAT: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Golaghat on Monday to inaugurate several projects in the district. After his arrival, Dr Sarma first visited Sri Sri Athkhelia Namghar. The Chief Minister lit a lamp and offered prayers for the well-being of the people of Assam.
The CM assured that the Assam Government would provide all necessary support for the development of the Namghar in the future. His presence at the sacred site was a blessing for the devotees and the local community. Later, Chief Minister Sarma, inaugurated the newly-constructed sports complex of Golaghat Government Bezbaruah Higher Secondary School and the modern Golaghat Indoor Stadium, marking a new era in the field of sports in Golaghat.
The newly-constructed sports complex will provide a boost to sports development in the region and the modern indoor stadium is set to provide state-of-the-art facilities for athletes and sports enthusiasts.
In addition, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a massive water supply project worth Rs 130 crore, which will provide 24x7 clean drinking water to 55,000 people using water from the Dhansiri river. This project is expected to be a game-changer in the field of public health. The Assam CM also visited the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL).
