DHEKIAJULI: A shocking daylight cash-theft occurred in Dhekiajuli when unidentified miscreants fled with Rs 5.90 lakh belonging to a trader from Borsola. The victim, Mobarak Hussain, a corn and betel nut trader from Borsola, had withdrawn the amount from the SBI Dhekiajuli Branch around noon before heading to a shop near the Dhekiajuli Weekly Market.

According to reports, after withdrawing the cash, Hussain placed the money along with important documents inside his scooty and went to a shop near the Dhekiajuli Weekly Market. While inside, he noticed on the shop’s CCTV footage that a youth wearing a red shirt had broken into his scooty’s storage box. Within moments, the miscreant grabbed the cash-filled bag along with other documents and swiftly fled the scene.

Realizing the theft, Hussain immediately informed the Dhekiajuli Police. A team of officers quickly arrived at the spot and launched a search operation. However, no suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made so far.

This incident has raised serious concerns about security in the town. Notably, a similar robbery occurred a few months ago in the heart of Dhekiajuli, where miscreants looted a large sum of money by breaking a vehicle’s window. Local traders and residents have urged authorities to strengthen security measures and enforce stricter vigilance to prevent such crimes. The police investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to track down the culprits.
