Deori Autonomous Council Polls: Jogen Deori from BJP wins from Margherita

TINSUKIA: In Deori Autonomous Council election, the result of which was declared on Thursday, Jogen Deori from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won from 3 Margherita (ST) constituency, defeating his nearest rival Bimal Deori, an independent candidate by a margin of 188 votes. A total of 1,292 voters exercised their franchise on November 8 in five polling stations. While the winner Jogen Deori polled 644 votes, the tally for other candidates were Bimal Deori (Independent) 456, Heremba Deori (Independent) 116 and Khogeswar Deori (INC) 66. The number of votes rejected was 10.
