Dibrugarh DC Pallav Gopal Jha Reviews Progress of Development Schemes

Dibrugarh: A meeting of the Dibrugarh District Development Committee was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha reviewed the progress of all ongoing development schemes of various departments in the district. The DC, while taking review, instructed works department such as PWD Building to fully utilize the working season for completion of all infrastructural works within the stipulated time period. He also instructed works departments to prepare an action calendar against contractors - those entrusted with civil works - and closely monitor the progress of each work.

In the meeting, Jha also directed Legal Metrology and Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs Department to carry out joint inspections on regular basis at daily markets and petrol pumps to avoid cases related to faulty weighing and measuring. The DC also instructed social welfare officers to expedite the process of issuing certificates to specially-abled persons and also asked labour departments to conduct joint inspections with Circle Officers at brick kilns in the district.

Similarly, he also directed DTO to carry out enforcement drives against the violators of the newly amended Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019. The meeting was also attended by District Development Commissioner Sanjoy Dutta and heads of various departments.
