DIBRUGARH: Based on input received from Chabuwa Police, the Dibrugarh police carried out an operation at the residence of one Shiva Prasad Shah at Panchali area here and recovered 27 kg of cannabis (ganja) from his possession.
The market value of the seized cannabis, according to police, is over Rs 4 lakh. Chabuwa police on May 18 arrested Pranab Das of Hiloidari village and seized 4.70 kg cannabis from his residence. In another raid conducted by Dibrugarh Police at Graham bazar area on Wednesday, police seized large quantity of illicit liquor. Police arrested Abhisekh Kumar who used to sell liquor bottles to customers during the curfew period at a high price. During search operation, police also seized a large quantity of country liquor from arrested Abhisekh's residence.
