Foundation laid for new circuit house near proposed DC office in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: Synchronizing with the proposed initiative to shift the office of the District Commissioner of Darrang from the existing site and the construction of the integrated office of the District Commissioner at Bangala Garh on the outskirt of Mangaldai town on NH-15, district administration took up the initiative for construction of a spacious circuit house near the proposed integrated office of the District Commissioner.

On Friday morning, Mangaldai Legislator Basanta Das and District Commissioner Parag Kumar Kakaty jointly laid the foundation stone of the proposed new circuit house at village Pakabangipara. Earlier, Bhumi Puja was also performed as per the traditional ritual. Chairman of Mangaldai Development Authority Pratap Bordoloi, social activist Nilima Devi, Circle Officer of Mangaldai Partha Pratim Barua, Executive Engineer, PWD, Building Anuj Kr Sarma, and a number of village elders also joined the foundation-laying function.

The district administration has also allotted 150 bighas of land for the construction of the proposed Medical College at Mangaldai near the proposed Integrated DC Office and Circuit House. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to lay the foundation stone of the proposed Medical College on September 8.
