Haflong: Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India, has announced the commencement of the fourth Sushasan Saptah (Good Governance Week) from December 19 to 24. This year’s theme, ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ (Administration Towards the Village), underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing effective governance in rural communities.
The Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore 2024 campaign is structured into two phase in Dima Hasao also along with the rest of the country i.e preparatory phase and implementation phase. During this week-long initiative, special public grievance redressal camps will be held to provide citizens with direct access to resolve their issues. Service delivery applications will be processed through the Sewa Setu portal, modernizing public service and improving accessibility. Noteworthy achievements in public grievance resolution will be showcased on the DARPG portal, promoting transparency and accountability.
As instructed by the District Commissioner Simanta Kumar Das, ADC Sangeeta Devi is overseeing the successful implementation and conduct of the week-long campaign. A special camp is set up in the office of the District Commissioner for public grievances and improve service delivery in the district.
As per the direction of the government a workshop will also be held on December 23, to gather and submit good governance practices at the district level on the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ Portal to be conducted throughout the states.
Similarly, North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Principal Secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu has instructed all the heads of the council entrusted departments to hold special public grievance redressal camps along with disposal of service delivery application in sewa setu portal.
The ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign is a key part of Good Governance Week, aiming to make development accessible at the grassroots level. The initiative strengthens the core principles of grassroots democracy by creating a transparent, efficient, and welfare-focused governance framework.
Central to the success of good governance is the active participation of citizens, and to position them as vital contributors to the governance process.
