DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh and its adjoining region suffered badly due to hailstorm on Thursday night.
Road communication and electric supply was disrupted in various places in the region due to big trees falling on the road. The hailstorm caused severe damage to several houses at BakulMazGaon, Phutahola, Dikom, Binoygutia, Rohmoria, LezaiKolakhowaBorboruah, Khanikar, Bokpara, Mohanbari, and Jokai areas. One person was critically injured but there is no report of any causality from any part of the region. The peasants of the areas who lost their agriculture produce due to hailstorm have urged upon the government to pay compensation for the damage.
