KOKRAJHAR: A high-level meeting between the Minister of Education, Dr Ranoj Pegu, and representatives of the ABSU was held on Monday at Janata Bhawan, Dispur, in Guwahati to discuss various important issues related to elementary, secondary, and higher education.
ABSU president Dipen Boro said that the discussion was highly fruitful and prepared a roadmap for early solution of problems of the Bodo medium education. He said that the key issues of the discussion included provincialization of schools as per Bodo Accord, creation of PGT and EGS school posts, establishment of new Bodo medium model high schools with world bank package, start of Bodoland University campus from this academic session at Udalguri and to upgrade Udalguri College to Udalguri University, rationalization in Bodo medium outside sixth schedule, regularization of tutor teachers, special TET for Bodo medium outside BTR, creation of posts for Bodo department in Baksa and Balipara model degree colleges and transfer of teachers of non-Bodo medium background from Bodo medium schools.
The ABSU delegation was accompanied by Umesh Daimary, vice-president, Dinesh Brahma, Assistant General Secretary, Swmaosar Basumatary, Education Secretary, Biswajit Narzary, Assistant Education Secretary, and Swmdwn Brahma, Public Relation Secretary.
