Indian Oil's Bongaigaon Refinery Launches "Share & Care" Initiative to Support Vulnerable Communities

Indian Oil's Bongaigaon Refinery launched the "Share & Care" initiative, providing essentials and support to vulnerable communities, showcasing its commitment to welfare and care.

KOKRAJHAR: Indian Oil’s Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR), situated at Dhaligaon in Chirang district kicked off the New Year with a heartfelt demonstration of its core value, “Care”, through a comprehensive community outreach programme called “Share & Care”. Refinery leadership and employees visited numerous local organizations, bringing comfort, companionship and essential supplies to vulnerable members of the community.

Nayan Kumar Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head, led the initiative with a visit to the Abhayapuri Senior Citizens’ Home. He spent quality time interacting with the elderly residents, listening to their stories and offering companionship to those often-facing in isolation. To mark the New Year, he distributed packets of blankets, dry rations, and other essentials.

Mihir Singhal, CGM (TS, HS&E), and Dilip Nandi, GM(PN), distributed dry rations, blankets, and essentials to specially-abled patients at Missionaries of Charity. Sunil Kalita, CGM(T), along with members of the IOOA BGR unit, visited the Kripalaya Care Home for rescued girls, providing support and encouragement while LD Bora, GM (MN), and members of BGREU visited the Orisni Care Home, a drug de-addiction centre, offering hope for a brighter future. Similarly, Rupa Taikam, GM(M&C) and Bobby Doley, GM (ES & Inspection), visited the Nevard Mental Health Hospital in Bongaigaon, supporting women facing mental health challenges and Naba Jyoti Das, GM I/c(HR) and Pallab Nath, GM(F&S), visited the Nichima Orphanage Home for violence victim children, distributing blankets, dry rations, and other necessities.

 Executive Director and Refinery Head Nayan Kumar Baruah said, “At Indian Oil, we believe in giving back to the communities where we operate.” He also said the ‘Share & Care’ initiative was a testament to their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those around them. He further said they were deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with and support these deserving individuals and organizations which underscores Bongaigaon Refinery’s dedication to community welfare and its commitment to embodying the core value of “Care.”
