DIBRUGARH: Field Office, Dibrugarh organized a one-day Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Viksit Bharat at Garudharia village, Dibrugarh today.
Field Office, Dibrugarh under Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting organized the ICOP on Swachhata Hi Seva, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, and Atmanirbharat Bharat at Garudharia Community Hall, Garudharia, Dibrugarh.
The event was started with a special plantation drive on ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. Students, teachers, people from the village, and members of Self Help Groups participated in the plantation drive. The drive aimed at instilling a sense of environmental conservation among young students and members of the village. As the world is facing issues such as climate change and natural calamities, it has become imperative to work collectively to save mother earth.
The programme was followed by a special cleanliness drive on the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ initiative. Women and students participated in the drive. Deliberating on the importance of cleanliness, Binita, Director of Brahmakumari Dibrugarh Centre, deliberated on the role of cleanliness in life. She reiterated the role of every citizen in keeping the surrounding clean. She also appreciated the role of the Field Office in taking the message of the government to the people at the grassroots level.
A special lecture was given by Binita on ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ initiative and how drug-addiction is impacting the lives of youth in the country. She emphasised that to make the country ‘atmanirbhar,’ it is very important to have mental strength among the youth. She said that drug-addiction is one of the leading ailments hampering the lives of youth.
Special demonstration on drugs and its harmful impacts was given by Bidhan from Dibrugarh Brahmakumari Centre. He said that mobile and social media addictions are becoming challenges for a healthy and fit India. Speaking at the programme, he said that for a brighter future, we have to work for a healthy mind so that we can work collectively to realize the dream of Viksit Bharat. A pledge on saying no to drugs was undertaken at the programme. A special mediation session was also conducted.
