International Human Rights Day observed in Assam

International Human Rights Ambassador Organization too observed the International Human Rights Day with day-long programmes on Saturday at the Nagaon district library auditorium.

NAGAON: Along with the rest of world, International Human Rights Ambassador Organization too observed the International Human Rights Day with day-long programmes on Saturday at the Nagaon district library auditorium. The programme was initiated with hoisting of its flag by Niva Kumari Bora, the state president of the organization, following which a seminar on human rights in the context to the prevailing issues across the globe was also organized in which Dr Avinash Dhananjay Sukunda and Dr Hareswar Saikia, the president and secretary general of the international organization respectively, participated and spoke on the issues related to the prevailing situation of human rights across the globe.

During the day, the organization presented the doctorate degree of ITMUT University, Brazil to Tapash Kumar Pramanik, the retired deputy director of Nehru Yuva Kendra, and Hamen Medhi, official of National Highway Authority of India. Besides, the Asian biggest peace award was also presented to Ajit Bora, noted activist of Xatriya cultural traditions, social activist Sobudh Das and noted sculptor Rachayita Das. The programme was chaired by Dhananjay Talukdar, vice-president of the organization.

DEMOW: Under the initiative of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) Central Committee, under the patronage of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS), Sivasagar district committee and in association with the people, the International Human Rights Day was observed in the auditorium of Demow Multi-Purpose on Saturday with a day-long programme.

A chorus was sung on the occasion. An open session was organized where a discussion session was held in which Keshab Saharia, MASS central committee leader, presided over. Lachit Bordoloi, Bubumoni Goswami, Pranab Hazarika along with other MASS workers were present in the open session.
