International May Day celebrated across Assam

The Nalbari district unit of the Jatiya Shramik Parishad, a sister organization of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chhatra Parishad celebrated May Day on Monday at Nalbari.

NALBARI: The Nalbari district unit of the Jatiya Shramik Parishad, a sister organization of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chhatra Parishad celebrated May Day on Monday at Nalbari. The meeting was chaired by the president of the Nalbari District Committee, Nirod Das. The general secretary of the Nalbari District Committee, Jogesh Kalita, the Central Committee Executive Member Monoram Kalita, ‘Brikshabandhu’ Bhupen Das, Labor Leaders Naren Kakati, Haren Das, District Executive Dhairyaram Barman and Shramik Parishad, Balikaria Branch President Minti Rajbongshi and many attended the meeting. All the members of the organization pledged to play a strong role in the interest of the oppressed and exploited working people.

GOLAGHAT: Golaghat Maheswari Yuva Sangathan & Golaghat Maheswari Sabha observed Labour Day . On the occasion, a team of youths under the leadership of secretary Vishal Binnani distributed food packets and drinking water to cobblers, cart pullers and daily wage earners at various places of the town. The team expressed their gratitude to them for their hard work. Treasurer Subham Kothari, Gauri Shankar Rathi, Manmohan Rathi , Pankaj Chandak and Amit Nagori were present on the occasion.

TINSUKIA: The International Workers’ Day or Labours’ Day was observed by different organisations on Monday. The Tinsukia branch of Marwari Yuba Manch felicitated APDCL workers on the occasion that did commendable relentless service in restoration power lines in Tinsukia following devastating hailstorm on April 22. The Panitola branch of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) observed the day at ACMS banquet hall Subachani Road, Tinsukia. The Harijan Mazdoor Union of Tinsukia Municipality observed May Day at Golap Chandra Rabi Chandra Natya Mandir. Ironically on May Day, 3 women workers sustained burn injuries following a fire resulting from the bursting of gas cylinder at a noodles factory at Talap Balijan under Doomdooma revenue circle in Tinsukia district. The injured women were shifted to AMC&H.
