Jihadi operatives will not succeed in BTC: CEM Pramod Boro

KOKRAJHAR: In response to queries raised during the media interaction on the occasion of unveiling BTR Community Vision Document at ITA Centre recently, the CEM of BTC Pramod Boro said the Jihadi operatives in BTC will never succeed as it failed across India despite their repeated attempts.

In reply to a question on Jehadi threat in BTC after arrest of three suspected jihadis in Kokrajhar recently, Boro said there was no success of jihadi operations in India and thus he believes that  their operatives and agenda will not succeed in BTC too. He also said the attempt of jihadis had already been discouraged in Bodoland which already witnessed decades-long militancy problems where people want to breath fresh air. “Our vision is that all innovative schemes, privileges must reach to the last people in the society then there will be no jihadi or other operatives.

Boro while replying on the question of solution of all problems, said  every solution will not base only on fund and therefore, they had been  designing for human resource development to tab talents in sports, education, culture etc. “We are preparing DPR for agriculture and horticulture based industries through reputed consultants and no big fund is required to work for the development of community,” he added.

On the reconciliation process he said the sustainable peace in BTR was their prime objective and Viksit Bharat vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and developed Assam vision of Himanta Biswa Sarma inspired them to work and thus they are also trying to understand the grievances of all communities and to streamline the solution they have prepared the Community Vision Document.  “This is our New Year documents to the people of BTR. We want to ensure people to get their justice delivered,” he added.

For the education to the Adivasis he said education was their priority department. “We are strengthening educational eco system and adopted School Adoption Programme and training to teachers. He said the educational system in BTC got improved remarkably. “We are giving due attention from KG to PG and development of infrastructures are being brought. Special initiative for Medical, Civil service and Engineering is taken.

On encroachments, he said the illegal encroachments had been continuing over the years. He said the encroachers were also human being and at the same time the council has carried out survey of land classifications. He also said their approach will be protection of forest and eco system, national parks and solution of forest related issues without conflicting the human being. He further said the government of BTR had drawn long term policy over it.

The CEM of BTC Boro said every community had a feeling of being deprived for their rights and for 26 communities of BTC the council has collected the problems of various communities by reaching out to them. Additionally, he said that the sense of deprivation was widespread throughout India, not just in Bodoland. “Being a movement leader, I also felt it when I was working in ABSU”, he said adding that the council level problem of BTC would be initiated by the council government as per vision of  document and state level problem would be dealt by state government while issues of constitutional provision would be dealt with the government of India.

“We have a department to look after the unemployment problems because there is no big industries. We are focusing livelihood through agriculture, horticulture and livestock. Agriculture transaction has the highest achievement. We are lacking in work force in agriculture, the learned youths are being inspired and focus is on agriculture and livestock with 30 partners for development. Economic conclave would be convened involving experts,” he added.

On the massive encroachments in reserve forests of BTC, Boro said land problem was from the time of post Independence. “We are the 1st council to digitalize land records and giving online services on 13 categories. We are following Supreme Court guidelines too. This vision document is not party document but a government document”, he added. Regarding the conversion to Christianity, he stated that the government of BTC will operate with equal fairness and does not believe in working partially on the basis of religion.

He emphasised that everyone should prioritise safety and security when it comes to the growth of tourism. Only four years have passed since Bodoland's calm returned, and they are now concentrating on stability and peace. They have held two Durand Cups, the Santosh Trophy, the Knowledge Festival, and literary and cultural festivals in Kokrajhar.. He also said the foot falls of tourism was increasing in Bodoland. Additionally, he stated that the production of horticultural and agricultural goods has been growing, that lemons are exported, along with dragon fruits and other items.
