GAURISAGAR: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and its sister organization Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti today staged a protest programme in front of Gaurisagar Development Block in Sivasagar District today, accusing irregularities in the Orunodoi 3.0 scheme.
The protesters chanted slogans like ‘stop politicization in the name of Orunodoi scheme,’ ‘give priority to eligible beneficiaries,’ ‘AGP, BJP murdabad,’ etc. Addressing the protesters, Ritumoni Hazarika, Chief Organizing Secretary of KMSS said that the names of extremely poor, widows, and disabled families have been cut off in the name of beneficiary selection by a section of BJP leaders. Later, BDO Gaurisagar Development Block Denish Dutta met the protesters and promised to rectify the irregularities in the selection of beneficiaries soon.
Earlier, the anguished women strongly protested in Dikhowmukh, Charing, Morabazar, Kawaimari, and other panchayats under Gaurisagar Development Block over irregularities Orunodoi 3.0. The protesters also alleged that the names of eligible beneficiaries were cut off in the name of re-monitoring the scheme and some of the names of their relatives were included in the all-party committee formed for the selection of beneficiaries.
