DHUBRI: A thought-provoking lecture on "Social Harmony and the Rise of Bharat: A Contemporary Perspective" was organized under the joint initiative of the Sanskrit Department of the college and the Dhubri District Chapter of the Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti at Bholanath College (Autonomous) on Wednesday.
The lecture was presided over by Dr. Dwipendra Kumar Adhikari, President of the Dhubri District Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti. The event was anchored by Dr. Chandrashekhar Upadhyay, Assistant Professor of the Sanskrit Department, Bholanath College. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Shri Hemant Dhing Mazumdar, National General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana (ABISY). The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Kishor Kumar Shah, Principal of Bholanath College, while Dr. Umesh Das, Secretary of the Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Dhubri District, explained the objective of the programme.
The keynote address was delivered by Hemant Dhing Mazumdar, who elaborately spoke on the relevance of social harmony in Indian society by citing references from the Vedas, Upanishads, and various Puranas and sub-Puranas. He discussed in detail how social harmony has contributed to the holistic development of India's social, cultural, political, and economic dimensions and emphasized its necessity in the present era.
Following the lecture, Malabika Dihidar and her group presented Naam Kirtan, and students of the Sanskrit Department performed the song "Manab Deha Matir Bhand" by Pratima Pandey Baruah in Sanskrit. In his concluding speech, Dr. Dwipendra Kumar Adhikari emphasized the relevance of social harmony in Indian history and culture.
Over 300 participants, including principals, professors, teachers, and students from various colleges and schools in the Dhubri District, attended the event.
