DIBRUGARH: A full-grown leopard was caged at Ganesbari Army camp in Dibrugarh on Wednesday. According to locals, the leopard has been creating terror in the region for past many days. "We were having sleepless nights for the past several days due to the terror of the leopard. We had spotted the leopard in our area many times. The leopard has killed our domestic animals. Finally the leopard has been caught," a local resident said.
He further added, "Many leopards are still spotted in our area. We have urged the forest department to take steps to cage other leopards which are roaming in the tea garden area."
"We had placed the iron cage in the Ganesbari area after getting complaints from locals that a leopard has been creating terror in the area. Today morning, the locals informed us that a leopard was caught. We have released the animal in the wild," said a forest official of Dibrugarh Forest range.
