Man found dead after attack at wedding ceremony in Nagaon district

A 30-year-old married man named Ritu Mura was found dead at a wedding spot at the Silpeta area under Samaguri Police Station in Nagaon district.

NAGAON: A 30-year-old married man named Ritu Mura was found dead at a wedding spot at the Silpeta area under Samaguri Police Station last night here. According to reports, Ritu had attended a wedding ceremony at Sanjay Terang’s residence at Silpeta, which falls under the Samaguri Police Station in Nagaon district.

Ritu’s family resides at Nibukali Navajyoti Village under Rangalo Police Outpost. Ritu’s family received a phone call around 9pm, informing them that Ritu was lying on the floor with stab wounds. The family rushed to the spot and immediately brought Ritu to Nagaon Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The victim’s family alleged that Ritu’s death was a pre-planned murder. They suspected that Ritu might have had an altercation with someone at the wedding ceremony, leading to the fatal attack. The police have started investigating the incident and detained three people for questioning. The post-mortem examination of the deceased has been conducted, and the body handed over to the family.

Ritu’s untimely death has left his family and the village in a state of shock. It is reported that Ritu got married two years ago and has a two-year-old son.
