JAMUGURIHAT: A 16-year-old girl from Sarubhagiya village of Jamugurihat and a student of Jamuguri HSS had gone missing since February 16. According to information received from the family source, the girl who was a student of class 9 of Jamuguri HSS did not return home since February 16. Rajen Bania, the father of the girl had lodged an FIR at Jamuguri Police Station on Monday with an allegation that a youth from Shiv Mandir, Gabharu under Sonitpur district had kidnapped her. While the State government has taken severe action against child marriage, absconding instances are on the rise in the State as a result of this. An official reported that Jamuguri police had begun an investigation on this matter.
