Nagaon DC Debashish Sarma distributes prizes among meritorious students

NAGAON: Nagaon District Commissioner Debashish Sarma urged students to strive to become good human beings while addressing a prize distribution ceremony at Kiranbala Goswami Vidyapith on Saturday.

Sarma emphasized that students should focus on developing their character and values, rather than just accumulating wealth and material possessions. Sarma shared a story to illustrate his point, highlighting that while wealth is important, it is not the only thing that defines a person’s worth. He encouraged students to strive for excellence and work hard to achieve their goals.

The Commissioner distributed prizes to meritorious students, including the Nabahas Goswami Memorial Award, Balen Sarma Memorial Award, Pramod Chandra Sarma Award, Aparna Bora Biswakarma Memorial Award, Ganesh Phukan Memorial Award, Bhupandra Narayan  Mahanta award and several others. He also awarded cash prizes and certificates to students who secured the highest marks in various subjects, including English, Assamese, Social Science, and Hindi.

The ceremony was presided over by Debajani Bhuyan, Headmistress of Kiranbala Goswami Vidyapith. Several dignitaries, including Smriti Shikha Phukan, Nimisha Sarma, Alakmani Bhattacharya, Nava Kumar Mahanta and others, were present at the ceremony.

Notably, the Commissioner sang a song along with the students and teachers, bringing everyone together in a moment of joy and camaraderie.
