NAGAON: Along with the rest of the country, Nagaon Lions Club also celebrated the Doctor’s Day on Tuesday. As part of the celebration, the Nagaon Lions Club, like previous years, honoured two dedicated and noted physicians of the small town.

Dr Apurba Kumar Sarma (MD), a retired District Joint Health Officer and a prominent physician, and Dr Foujina Hasin, an eye-specialist and Medical and Health Officer at Bhogeswari Phukanani Civil Hospital in Nagaon, were felicitated by the club at their respective workplaces. The club members felicitated them with a bouquet of flowers, a sweet dish, a shawl, and a memento as a token of appreciation.

Earlier, Nagaon Lions Club also conducted a tree plantation as well as a cleanliness drive in its office premises as part of the celebration. The event was attended by prominent members of Nagaon Lions Club, including the new President, Jiten Agarwal, Secretary Maharsi Vishal Bordoloi, Treasurer Madan Saha, Biswajit Mahanta, Ajoy Mittal, Sushanta Borthakur, Mala Bordoloi, Mahabir Agarwal, Ranjit Tamuli Phukan, Gurucharan Singh, and other members.
