KHERONI: The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) is set to inaugurate a new air-conditioned (AC) bus service connecting Diphu to Guwahati on August 6 at 12:00 PM. The launch event will take place at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), 5th Mile, Chutianala, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, marking a significant milestone in enhancing regional connectivity.
This initiative aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and reliable travel option for the people of Karbi Anglong, particularly students, patients, professionals, and daily commuters travelling to Guwahati. The AC bus service is expected to ease travel challenges, improve access to healthcare and education, and boost local economic activity. The inauguration ceremony will be led by Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC, as the chief guest, with Bili Mohon Khaglary, Executive Member in-charge of the Transport Department, KAAC, in attendance. Amarsing Tisso, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) for Diphu (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, will grace the event as the guest of honour. Other dignitaries include Darsing Ronghang (MLA, Howraghat), Bidya Sing Engleng (MLA, Diphu), Raju Tisso (Chairman, KAAC), Avijit Kro (Deputy Chairman, KAAC), along with several Executive Members, KAAC transport department officials, senior district officials, and stakeholders from various sectors. As part of the event, stalls and a canteen facility will be inaugurated at the ISBT to enhance commuter convenience and improve passenger services. The introduction of this AC bus service underscores KAAC’s commitment to citizen-centric initiatives that promote accessibility, inclusive development, and regional growth.
