KOKRAJHAR: As part of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025, NTPC-Bongaigaon, located in the Kokrajhar district, organized a unique and inspiring workshop titled “Being Mindful with Creativity” at the GEM Hall on Friday. The workshop was conducted by Zankla Studio, a creative platform based in Assam, under the leadership of its Director, Kirat Brahma. Brahma, known for his sustainable toy designs and handcrafted products, has earned national recognition from both the President and the Prime Minister of India.
Centred on the theme “Nature is Us”, the session aimed to connect the 40 young participants with nature and their inner selves through storytelling, creativity, and mindful engagement. The workshop emphasized conservation, self-expression, and empathy for the environment.
The interactive session included experiential activities designed to spark curiosity and encourage calm thinking. The children were introduced to nature-inspired replicas of rare and endangered species, crafted by the Zankla team using eco-friendly methods.
Participants, aged between 10 and 12, enthusiastically took part in the activities, drawing inspiration from the natural world and recognizing their role as future changemakers for a sustainable planet. The workshop embodied Zankla Studio’s philosophy—where art meets awareness, and creativity becomes a tool for mindfulness and education.
Kasturi Maitra, president of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, felicitated Kirat Brahma and his team, praising their enriching contribution to the GEM initiative. She highlighted the importance of such programs in nurturing young minds and building a strong foundation for confidence, creativity, and environmental awareness.
NTPC-Bongaigaon, through initiatives like GEM, continues to support inclusive and holistic development for rural children—building a brighter, more mindful future, one workshop at a time.
