Moni Das (Mamoni) passed away peacefully at the residence of her son Dr. Neil Utpal Das on Thursday morning. She was 86. Ever smiling, dignified, socially charming Moni Das was respected and adored by one and all who came into her contact. Gardening, reading good books, music was her lifelong passion. She was preceded decades ago by her husband P C Das, the first Director General of Assam Police and leaves behind two daughters, a son, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of mourning relatives and friends.
