DIBRUGARH: Oil India Limited (OIL) successfully addressed a technical challenge at its Barekuri Quick Production Setup (QPS) facility today afternoon.

“The incident involved a mild liquid carryover caused by a level controller malfunction in one of the production separators. The situation was promptly managed, with the operating crew resolving the issue within a record time of just five minutes,” OIL's press statement said.

It further said, “During the event, a small amount of liquid mixed with gas reached the flare pit, where it was safely burnt, resulting in a brief release of black smoke. The situation was swiftly brought under control, and the facility’s control systems have since returned to normal operations.” “While occasional equipment malfunctions can lead to liquid carryover in production facilities, OIL’s teams are trained to respond immediately to ensure safety and minimize environmental impact. The company remains committed to upholding the highest safety and operational standards across all its facilities,” the statement said.
